About the event

Native Voices was a contemporary Indigenous art exhibition presented by Art Off the Rails in partnership with Public Art Albuquerque, celebrating the diverse voices, perspectives, and creative expressions of Native artists.


The exhibition created a space for artists to explore culture, identity, history, community, and the experiences of Indigenous people through contemporary art. Rather than presenting Native culture as something rooted only in the past, Native Voices highlighted the artists shaping what Indigenous creativity looks like today—through their own stories, mediums, and perspectives.


Bringing together artists with different backgrounds, practices, and lived experiences, the exhibition emphasized that there is no single Native experience. Each work offered its own voice while contributing to a larger conversation about visibility, representation, heritage, and the future of Indigenous art.
